Bosch VE Performance Boost Pin / LDA Pin

This performance LDA pin (boost pin) is the go-to part for a "stage 1" on turbo diesel 4x4s, cars and trucks running a Bosch VE distributor pump. It's also strongly recommended on engine builds to keep low-RPM smoke under control.

Most LDA pins sold online are machined from untreated stainless steel. They're soft and wear a groove over time.

How it works

This performance pin offers far more compensation travel than stock pins. Off boost, it restricts fuel delivery just like a stock pin, or even more if you adjust your LDA settings. As boost pressure builds, it opens up much more fuel.

Tips

For a stage 1, simply swap it in place of the stock pin and remove the plastic ring. Depending on the pump, some adjustment of smoke and low-RPM behavior may be needed.

For an engine build or a performance pump with large plungers, use the LDA adjustments to get the most travel possible, and a faster or slower taper depending on the behavior you want.

Compatibility

The pin is 12mm in diameter, so it fits most turbo diesel Bosch VE pumps. A few examples:

• Peugeot 1.9 and 2.1 TD
• Land Rover 200 and 300 Tdi
• Volvo D24
• Cummins engines
• Sofim 2.5 / 2.8 engines (Peugeot, Iveco, etc.)
